Prof. Wolrad Rommel received his doctorate from Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt.

In addition to his educational activities, he has extensive business management experience in the telecommunications markets in Europe: Deutsche Telekom, Detecon International, Deutsche Telekom AG.

• In 1993, Wolrad Rommel became Professor of Economics and Competition Law at the Leipzig University of Applied Sciences (HTWK Leipzig). From 1996 to 1999 he headed the Faculty of Business as Dean and was a member of the University Senate.
• In 2006, Wolrad Rommel founded the private university German Graduate School of Management and Law (GGS) for in-service postgraduate education.
• From 2008 to 2012, he headed the competence center for applied advanced research in the field of digital networks (Vienna, Austria).
• From 2013 to 2018, Wolrad Rommel was President of the Saarland University of Applied Sciences (HTW Saar).
• Since October 2021, he has been President of the Kazakh-German University in Almaty.
