"Integrated water resources management" Master's Program (2 years)

Who is entitled to apply:

  • Students and young water researchers/specialists from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan;
  • Graduates of Bachelor's degree programs in the field of natural resources (natural/agricultural/technical sciences);
  • Graduates of economic, social and humanitarian sciences with mandatory practical work experience (at least 3 years) in water resources management domain, environmental research or water-related projects.
Admission procedure:
  1. Collect and send scans of documents by July 15 to nri@dku.kz for preliminary verification.
  2. Pass a preliminary interview and scanned documents screening.
  3. Register in the Online registration system of DKU applicants. You can download the User Manual at https://dku.kaznu.kz/abiturient_home/index/
  4. For Kazakhstan citizens only - pass a comprehensive test provided by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for admission to the Master's program (score at least 50 points). You can find out more about comprehensive testing and its cost here. Registration for the CT is available only until July 15.
  5. Submit the original documents to the DKU Admissions Committee by July 25, 2024.
  6. Pass an interview in DKU for knowledge of the English language.
  7. Pass an interview in the specialty at DKU. During the interview, you will need to answer questions on management and water resources.
  8. Write an application for a scholarship and sign a contract.
  9. Pass prerequisites if necessary.
Language requirements
  • The training is conducted in English. Good knowledge of English is obligatory for admission.
  • All candidates (nominated/ self-submitted applications) must have a sufficient level of English proficiency, provide a certificate of international English language testing.
  • Candidates from Afghanistan (nominated/self-submitted applications) must have a sufficient level of proficiency in Russian to be able to pass successfully such disciplines as Psychology, Pedagogy, Philosophy, as these courses are mandatory in accordance with Education and Science Ministry rules of Kazakhstan Republic for master's programs.
  • We also offer an online preparatory course in English.
  • To enter the Master's program, you must submit a package of documents (must be submitted online in the form of scanned copies by July 30)
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree (mandatory apostilization in the country of residence, nostrification in Kazakhstan);
  • Medical certificate U-075 with a fluorography image;
  • Identity card and/or passport (officially translated into Russian);
  • 6 photos (3*4 cm);
  • Resume (reflecting your work experience and scientific articles, contacts, Skype/whatsapp/telegram is desirable);
  • TOEFL 560 or IELTS 6.0 certificate (in the absence of this certificate, the candidate passes the exam in Kazakh-German University);

After checking electronic copies of documents and passing a preliminary interview, you will be asked to provide a full package of documents for admission to the Master's program at Kazakh-German University Admission Committee (must be submitted in original only):

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (mandatory apostilization in the country of residence, mandatory nostrification in Kazakhstan);
  • Medical certificate 075 with a fluorography image (made in Kazakhstan);
  • A copy of the identity card and/or passport (+ an officially translated copy in Russian-for foreign students);
  • 6 passport photos (3*4 cm);
  • Resume (reflecting your work experience and scientific articles);
  • TOEFL 560 or IELTS 6.0 certificate (in the absence of this certificate, the candidate passes the exam in Kazakh-German University);
  • Motivation letter (in Russian);
  • List of scientific and methodological works (if available);
  • A personnel record sheet from work place or a notarized employment record document (if available);
  • A copy of the registration certificate/military ID (for men);

Visa. Candidates from Turkmenistan and Afghanistan independently apply for a tourist visa to Kazakhstan for the period of the entrance exam (the approximate deadline for submitting an application is 1-3 months in advance). Kazakh-German University does not issue Visa Invitations.

The application and the entire package of documents (originals) must be submitted by August 20, 2024 to the Admission Committee of the Kazakh-German University.
