Science meets Policy: “Climate Mitigation and Adaptation in an Era of Social-Ecological Uncertainties”

Since 2020, the Kazakh-German University (DKU), within the framework of the Green Central Asia initiative, has organized the annual international Silk Road of Knowledge Conference. Over the years, the conference has brought together more than 2,000 participants and over 100 organizations, providing a unique platform for dialogue between policymakers, academics, technical experts, NGOs, and civil society representatives.
🎯 Objectives of the 2025 Conference:
- • Share the latest scientific findings and innovations in water management, land use, agriculture, climate security, and energy transformation, with clear links to Phase II of the Green Central Asia (GCA II) initiative;
- • Discuss science-based recommendations in support of political and economic strategies for climate change mitigation and adaptation in Central Asia;
- • Present integrated approaches to resilience-building in the context of growing socio-ecological uncertainties;
- • Foster youth and women’s engagement in science and strengthen their role in policy-making;
- • Produce concise policy briefs from each thematic session to enhance science–policy interaction in the region.
