Video Contest on Green Nudges at Universities in Central Asia and South Caucasus

Kazakh-German University (DKU) in partnership with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) announces the Video Contest on the implementation of green nudges in universities in Central Asia and South Caucasus.

To participate in the contest you need to create a short motivational video (30-60 seconds), which will reflect a successful experience of implementing green nudges or one of the most successful nudges in your university. More detailed video requirements are available on the registration form (link below).

The contest is open to individual student leaders as well as teams of students and educators from universities in Central Asia and South Caucasus.

Video submission deadline: September 16, until 24.00 (Almaty time, GMT+5).

The finalists' videos will be presented at the Sustainable Lifestyles Festival (September 19-20, 2024, Tashkent), where the authors of the best materials will be selected and awarded.

The topic areas of the videos are green nudges[1] t universities in the areas of:

  • Energy conservation and energy efficiency;
  • Water conservation;
  • Sustainable eating and food waste reduction;
  • Conscious Consumption;
  • Sustainable transportation;
  • Separate waste collection and recycling.

Prize fund for participants and winners of the competition:

  • All contestants will receive certificates electronically;
  • Video clips of the finalists will be posted on the website of the interregional SLUN Network and partner websites, also the names of the finalists will be announced in the news section of the Central Asian Journal of Climate Research and Sustainable Development https://cajscr.com/;
  • Prize for the first place: opportunity for free training on the online course from DKU “ESG Practice in Kazakhstan” (fall 2024);
  • Prizes for the three winners: 1) Ecosouvenirs from the organizers of the festival; 2) Free participation in the online course on writing scientific and review articles (https://water-ca.org/ru/online-course) and the possibility of further publication of a scientific article in the Central Asian Journal of Climate and Sustainable Development Research (https://cajscr.com/); 3) For those who have green nudge related to the topic of water resources: a) the possibility of free participation in a unique online training on academic writing in the field of water policy and diplomacy for young researchers (in January 2025); b) opportunity to apply for an internship at IWMI (details will be known closer to the Festival); and other prizes from the project partners (wait for updates).

This contest is held within the framework of the third phase of the project “Global Opportunities for Sustainable Development Goals (GO4SDGs) in Central Asia and South Caucasus” supported by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP).
