To adopt the existing Clean Energy Transition Course offered by American university for the current needs of Kazakhstani universities in order to share knowledge with university faculty and students to better understand the specific steps and policies in implementing the transition to cleaner, greener energy.

Students, teachers and young researchers/specialists in the field of energy, renewable energy, ecology, sustainable development, urban planning and other relevant programs from universities in Kazakhstan; representatives of environmental and educational NGOs in Kazakhstan. Also policy makers and business participating and/or contributing to the formation of national policy in the field of energy.

• Increased capacity building of the faculty and students (including female students) from all the participating universities in Kazakhstan which further contributes to support of the country’s transition to a carbon neutral future.
• The course can also serve as a foundation for understanding the complexities of energy policy and transition, and hopefully serve for the exchange of experience, improved coordination between higher education institutions, government and international organizations. Furthermore, this course will contribute for creation of a cooperative network of stakeholders for renewable energy projects development as well as policy development.
• As a result of training, there will be a professional network which unites lecturers from different Kazakhstani technical universities, students (bachelor, master’s and PhD), representatives of specialized organizations, think tanks and environmental NGOs in the field of energy, renewable energy, ecology, environmental protection and water management.
