The Kazakhstan ClimAccelerator of Deutsch-Kasachische Universität (DKU) is implemented in partnership with EIT Climate-KIC (https://www.climate-kic.org/). EIT Climate-KIC is a climate innovation agency and community working to catalyze transformations using systems innovation as a key tool.

Other partners are international experts and coaches of Climate-KIC network, Lufthansa, Liebherr Kazakhstan, MOST Ventures, International Monetary Fund, and several independent experts in the field of sustainable business and environment.

Description

Kazakhstan ClimAccelerator is a mentorship program for young enterpreneurs of Central Asia willing to grow their eco-friendly start-ups into scalable sustainable businesses. The program represents the next stage after the Ecothons and International Green Business School (GBS) "Eco-Talk".

In 2022 ten successful environmentally friendly start-ups (DKU eco-business incubator alumni) took part in the first acceleration program (Oct 10th - Dec 15th 2022). The Agenda covered such themes as: sustainable business; marketing, and finance. The program consisted of guest lectures, mentoring sessions and networking events.

Project goals

Kazakhstan ClimAccelerator aims to mentor young enterpreneurs of Central Asia, providing an opportunity to ‘accel’ their working eco start-ups and open it up for investors.

Beneficiaries

  • Finalists of Ecothon and Eco-Talk programs;
  • Young eco-enterpreneurs of Central Asia and Afghanistan (18-35 years’ old).

Expected/achieved project results

  • 6 out 10 young environmental enterpreneurs of Central Asia has successfully gone through the mentoring program and received certificates.
  • Alumni of the program are active successful eco-business leaders in the region and are receiving support and investments.
